I fractured my femur bone due to a freak accident while in Rome and needed emergency surgery within the next 24-48 hours. My surgery team, led by Dr. Gianluca Fedeli, were excellent and I had a successful outcome and am on the road to recovery back in the US. The surgeons and anesthesiologist all spoke English as well so made it easier to communicate. I received outstanding care post surgery at the Rome Orthopedic Trauma Center,  including two PT sessions each day starting the day after my surgery from caring, qualified therapists who went above and beyond to help me. Meanwhile back in the US it’s a huge challenge to get a follow up PT appointment before having to wait for three weeks due to insurance obstacles and lack of available appointments for new patients. This was my first time having major surgery, which required a four night stay in the hospital, and would be surprised to receive the same high level of care in this country. If ever in Rome and need a great Orthopedic Trauma center this is the place to go! My surgeon continues to check in with me from overseas ten days after the surgery. I absolutely recommend ArsbioMedica! As a university student from the United States studying abroad in Florence, I found myself in a stressful situation after fracturing my wrist and needing surgery as soon as possible. At first, my family and I thought I would have to fly back to New York for treatment, but thanks to Dr. Marco Scrivano and his team, that wasn’t necessary! From the very beginning, Dr. Scrivano, Dr. Porcino, and Dr. G. Fedeli were outstanding. They were patient, and incredibly efficient in handling everything, including working directly with my travel insurance. Which as any American knows, is not any easy/pleasant process. I initially reached out through the orthopedic number on the Arsbiomedica website, and within five minutes I was already on the phone with their team. Within less than 24 hours of the consultation, my surgery was not only scheduled but successfully completed. Their responsiveness and organization made what could have been a long and chaotic process feel almost easy! Beyond the logistics, the level of care I received was exceptional. The entire Arsbiomedica staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating, especially given my family’s limited Italian language abilities. They allowed my mom to stay overnight with me and provided her with a bed, again something that most Americans couldn’t fathom! I felt completely comfortable, supported, and in excellent hands throughout my entire experience. And I can’t recommend the hospital, especially the orthopedic team enough. During our vacation to Rome, I missed a step and significantly sprained my ankle. I was unable to bear any weight without excruciating pain. I was able to message ARSbioMedical through WhatsApp. They quickly responded, gave me instructions, and literally greeted me at the door upon my arrival (actually the street where the taxi dropped me). I broke my knee while vacationing in Rome — not exactly how I planned to spend my trip. Finding myself in a foreign country, injured and overwhelmed, was genuinely frightening. Dr. Sebastino Porcino first treated me at a public hospital and his care was exceptional from the very start — before we even transferred to Arsbiomedica Clinic. His English was excellent, which made an already stressful situation so much easier to navigate. He and his team diagnosed and treated me quickly, never made me feel rushed, and somehow still found the time to answer what felt like countless follow-up messages with patience and care. Their bedside manner is the kind you rarely find — warm, reassuring, and genuinely kind.
